i know a lot of people haven’t played or watched gameplay of the games but pls do know that könig is not a part of 141. he never has been and he’s never ever worked with them. as far as canon goes, they don’t know each other exists
könig was an insertion specialist for the military (his bio has flipped flop back and forth between the german and austrian military before just keeping it vague) and works for the private military company kortac. pls do keep in mind the private military companies do not make any canon appearances in the games’ storylines. they’re only present in the multiplayer
i understand könig’s popularity skyrocketed with mw2 and fandom often portrays him as being a part of/working closely with the 141, and i’m all for having fun with canon, but with that often comes gaz, the main character from the first mw and a canon member of the 141, being replaced, and i’m not okay with that at all. i love könig to death. everyone here knows i do. i talk about him 24/7. my little autistic brain saw him and attached itself to him like a leech. but gaz doesn’t deserve to be replaced and tossed aside like that. könig is just a silly little operator in the multiplayer (i say that with so much love in my heart) while gaz is a canon character you play as in both games. gaz is multifaceted, he has a moral code we see him struggle with often. he’s quick-witted and easygoing and strategic and a perfectionist and headstrong and straightforward and isn’t afraid of calling out bullshit when he sees it
the TL/DR is: könig is not a part of, has ever worked with, or even knows the existence of the 141. kyle “gaz” garrick, however, is a part of the 141, and doesn’t deserve to be replaced.
